After attending school, in various places, Eva went to Saskatoon to attend Teacher’s College. Her first job was in a one room school called Welland. It was here she met the love of her life, George. They were married August 21st, 1957 and would have celebrated 62 years of marriage this August.
George and Eva welcomed a daughter, Lori on December 26th, 1959 and a son, Robin on December 29th, 1961. After moving around for a few years, they settled in Kinistino where they lived until moving to Melfort in September 2009.
Eva’s teaching career took her to Nipawin, Carrot River and Kinistino. During this time she taught and took University classes. She earned her Bachelor of Education degree in 1977. Eva retired from teaching June 1991 and moved to her new job of Grandma. She took this job seriously and enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters, Jodi and Jamie. When the girls married, the two young men were immediately her grandsons. Her grandma job grew when she became a great grandma to Kaden. He affectionately called her “Great Great Grandma”. She was eagerly awaiting the birth of her second great grandson in July.
Eva enjoyed many trips with George. Being an avid Rider fan, they enjoyed many years attending Rider games and even took in a few Grey Cups. After Eva was diagnosed with Parkinson’s she had to give up going to Rider games but still enjoyed watching them on TV. She still loved her Riders.
After moving to Melfort, she enjoyed going for coffee with her coffee ladies. Her last birthday was made extra special when they came and had coffee with her at Parkland.
Eva remained in their home until the Parkinson’s progressed to where she needed more care. She went into the home at Tisdale in October of 2016 and moved back to Parkland in December 2016 where she was living until her death. She received excellent care in Parkland for which her family will be forever grateful.
Eva was predeceased by her parents, brother Willie, mother and father-in-law Harry and Maida Langridge, as well as numerous other family members.
She is survived by her devoted husband and caregiver, George; daughter, Lori (Larry) Andries; son, Robin (Terry), granddaughters, Jodi (Logan) Beatty; Jamie (Patrick) Messner, great grandsons Kaden and Theo (soon to be born) Messner; sister Lena (Steve) Miazga; brother Henry (Sandra) Reimer, sister-in-law Eva Reimer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cyril (Darleen) Langridge, Harvey Langridge, Lois DeBin, Shirley (Bob) Jones, Joyce (Bud) Johnson, Charlotte Langridge, Marge Langridge, Pat (Rob) Wilson, Judy (Earle) Metcalfe; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
