Due to illness she became blind at the age of four. Despite her blindness, she learned to become very independent and lived in her own home for many years. She then lived in various homes until becoming a resident of Parkland Place and attending Plus Industries in Melfort.
Geraldine was very social, loved to visit and listen to country music. She spent much of her time knitting and giving away her dish cloths, to most people she met. She had the keen ability to remember birthdays, anniversaries, and recognize peoples voices. She liked to play a game with us girls…”Do you know who is singing that old country song?”. Most of the time we were wrong and she was right.
Geraldine was predeceased by her parents Melvin and Mary and by her brother Leonard.
Geraldine is survived by her sisters: Diane (Danny) Sereda, Bernice (Walter) Fedorychka, Sandra (Jim) Mcaloney and brother Brian Skifton; nieces and nephews: Leanne (Ian) Veinot, Shauna Sereda, Trent (Karen) Fedorychka,Chad (Veronica) Fedorychka, Mark (Jennifer) Fedorychka, Mike (Kellie) Mcaloney, Megan Mcaloney, Teah (Clint) Hyatt, Leonard (Samantha) Skifton and Richard Skifton. She is also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
