Obituary for George Maxwell "Max" Parry

George Maxwell "Max" Parry
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of “Max” George Maxwell Parry on December 27, 2018. He was born in Neston, England on June 28, 1939 to Ada and David Parry. He is predeceased by his infant daughter Victoria, parents Ada and David Parry, step father Bob Lee, brothers John Parry, David Parry, and sister Elsie James. Max is survived by his brother Gordon Parry, sister Joy and brother John Lee, his children Deanna (Kevin) Bickford, David (Sheryl) Parry; grandchildren Crystal (Ben Rogers), Riely, and Brielle Bickford, Victoria (Adam) and Illianna Fortune, Josh (Tara), Jesiah, Nyah, and Skye Bickford, best friend and partner Eileen Naber and her children Marlene (David) Earl; Lorena Brennan (Louy); Pam Brandt (Roy); grandchildren Scot Earl; Guy Zales;Todd (Janell) and Connor Earl; Kim (Brendan) Kinnsley and Braxton Miller; Corey Potter (Landen); Wyatt Brandt; Martina Brandt; Cooper and Joel Brennan.
At the age of 15 Max joined the Royal Navy and travelled throughout world until he met Loraine Chase from Moose Jaw in Hong Kong. After they were married, they spent some time living in Edinburgh while he finished his tour, and he immigrated to Canada in 1966. They settled in Moose Jaw and he worked briefly for the Moose Jaw City Police before moving to Vancouver for a few years, ultimately returning to Moose Jaw where he was a Moose Jaw City Police officer until he retired in 1999. After retirement, Max and Eileen enjoyed the quiet pace of Wishart where they were able to plant a large garden and join a bowling league. They later moved to Melfort to be closer to Eileen’s family. Max loved hunting and fishing, gardening and cooking, watching soccer and keeping in touch with friends and family back home.
A celebration of Max’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or OSI-CAN PTSD support for first responders in Canada. (www.osi-can.ca)
