It is great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of George Hillyard Armstrong on August 28, 2018 at the Tisdale Union Hospital.
George Armstrong was born on March 6, 1928, in Star City, SK. He was a blonde curly haired, blue eyed little boy and had a brother, Maurice, and two sisters, Arlene and Ruth.
He grew up on the farm and became a very good hockey player. He married and had two very nice boys, Rodney and David.
George farmed for many years and then became the greens keeper for the Tisdale Golf Club.
He met Bev Linnen and her 3 kids, Greg, Todd, and Melanie and had great pride for his home in Tisdale. George had a great passion for antique auction sales. He and Bev went to many sales and they bought nice pieces of glassware, lamps, and furniture.
Bev passed away in 2013 and George moved to Caleb Village for the remainder of his years. His health was starting to fail and he had to go to the hospital. He passed away peacefully, spending the day watching a baseball game, what he loved to do!
George is survived by his sons: Rodney and David Armstrong; granddaughters: Jennifer and Autumn Armstrong; brother Maurice (Florence) Armstrong and family; sister Ruth Rodgers and family; extended family Greg Linnen, Todd Linnen and Melanie Wilson and families and numerous other family members.
George was predeceased by his parents: Hillyard and Elizabeth; wife Beverly and first wife Shirley; sister Arlene and brother-in-law Brian Rodgers.
So long old friend, from so many people you touched in your life, including his sons:
Rodney and David Armstrong; Greg, Todd, Melanie and families and all the people he loved, and those who loved him. Thanks for the life we shared. Eternal peace Dad.
We will all see you in heaven.
