Gordon was born on March 27, 1931 in Simpson, SK. His family moved to Melfort when he was a child and was raised on the farm near Resource.
In 1954 he married Delores Cottrill and moved to Regina. They were blessed with four children Greg, Garth, Susan, and Brian.
After 16 years with the Regina Fire Department, the family moved to Melfort to take over the family farm. There, Gordon enjoyed raising Arabian horses and being active in the Melfort Arabian Club. He also spent countless hours in hockey rinks around Saskatchewan watching his kid’s hockey.
In 1987 he retired from farming and took over the Auto Tech gas station. After leaving the gas station he enjoyed hitting the road part-time for Hodgins Auctioneers. Gordon also enjoyed a good day fishing on the lake.
Gordon is survived by sons; Greg, Garth (Karen), daughter; Susan (Rick), grandchildren; Lauren (Jon), Conner (Katelyn), Allix (Casey), Jillian (Malusi), Rhett (Angela), Cole (Courtney), Tanner (Kaitlyn), and great grandchildren; Kashtyn, Cruz and Jesse.
He was predeceased by his wife Delores, son Brian, daughter-in-law Sandra Smith, and his mother Ethel Derkatz.
