The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Armand Dodd can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Armand Dale Dodd

Armand Dale Dodd
Armand Dale Dodd, born July 1, 1935 to Marg and Cecil Dodd in Rock Creek, near Glentworth, SK. He was the oldest of five children.
Armand worked construction for many years, for numerous companies. While working near Humboldt, he met the love of his life Dianne Dagenais. On February 16, 1963 they were married in Humboldt. Together they had three daughters whom he adored. They lived in numerous locations while he worked construction. On April 10, 1972 they moved to Pleasantdale where he worked for the RM of Pleasantdale as a patrol operator for many years. He started work at the Naicam Coop and became Parts Manager where he worked until he retired in 2000. During this time, Armand was also an avid member of the Wildlife Federation. He enjoyed hunting in the fall and ice fishing all winter. His motto was, “no sense living in God’s country if you can’t enjoy it”. Due to declining health in 2011, Dad and Mom moved to Consolation Manor in Melfort, SK where they could be closer to medical facilities.
Dad’s ultimate joy was his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family meant the world to him; He enjoyed many conversations and jokes with them. The great-grandchildren made dad chuckle and put the biggest smile on his face. Even in the last few weeks, when his health was failing, he always asked about the grandchildren and how their day was going. He was interested in the twins and was eagerly awaiting their arrival home. We know dad is watching over us all with the biggest smile on his face as we are gathered to celebrate his life.
Armand will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years Dianne (nee Dagenais), his three daughters Karla (Roy) Williams and their family, Cody (Leslie) Williams, Duncan, Ryley and Emma, Chance, Lane (Becky) Williams, Laryssa (Stu); Patricia (Ken) Gausman and their family, Tim (Jamie) Gausman, Daxtyn and Hayes, Rebecca (Scott) Scheller, Abby and Ally; Rhonda (Brent) O’Brien and their family, Kendra (Chad) Vanderbyl, Parker and Hudson, Shelby (Brandon Sloan) and Kelsey; “Daughter #4” Jolene Papich (Vic).
Armand is also survived by his siblings Elaine McLean, O’Dell (Doreen) Dodd, Rita (Ray) Lloyd; sister-in-Law Liz (Tom) Steen; brothers-in-Law Doug (Veronica) Dagenais, Barry (Marilyn) Dagenais, Corky (Rita) Dagenais; sister-in-law Nora Dagenais, Eileen Dagenais, Magdeline Dagenais and many nieces and nephews.
Armand is predeceased by his parents Marg and Cecil Dodd, his Brother Lorne Dodd; His mother and father-in-law Myrtle and Earl Dagenais; and his brothers-in-law: Melvin, Ken and Russel Dagenais.
